Plants in the Arabidopsis genus are incredibly versatile and well understood, making them one of the most frequently used plant varieties in a diverse range of scientific experiments. Researchers often turn to plants like the thale cress and other members of the Arabidopsis genus to conduct tests of new products or growth approaches, as changes can be easily identified throughout the growth of the plant. If your organization is looking for Arabidopsis chambers for your current or planned experiments, find them at Geneva Scientific.
For years, we have offered our customers a selection of Arabidopsis environmental chambers from Percival Scientific that are purpose-built to deliver optimal growing conditions for a variety of experimental applications. These chambers offer a controllable environment that allows scientists to tailor conditions inside the growing chamber to suit the demands of any test.
Researchers have also come to appreciate the space of our available chambers, as well. Each chamber offers abundant growing space – with up to 25.6 inches of growing height – while still fitting into a minimal amount of floor space (as little as 33.5 inches by 36.6 inches). This allows organizations to easily fit Arabidopsis chambers into their facilities while still adding enough controlled growing space to conduct experiments effectively and efficiently.
Complete Control
With the Arabidopsis series of environmental growth chambers, conditions can be adapted to meet the test climate desired for any experiment. Capabilities of the Arabidopsis series with the IntellusUltra Controller and optional control features includes:
- Temperature maintenance
- Control of humidity levels
- Management of carbon dioxide levels
- Light intensity control
With the additional capabilities offered by the optional IntellusUltra Connect, experimenters can further direct growth conditions. With this additional functionality, all aspects of conditions in the Arabidopsis chamber can be changed via pre-programmed adaptations or directly monitored and reprogrammed via a desktop computer, laptop or even via a smartphone or tablet.
Feature Rich
In addition to the full range of adaptive controls and management capabilities, the Arabidopsis series of chambers offer a rich suite of features to help make experiments more successful and repeatable. It all starts with space, with units providing ample room for plant growth and maturation, accommodating both small-scale and large-scale cultivation efforts. In addition, with multiple tray configurations and shelving tier options, you can customize experiments for volume, creating experiments and rely on limitations of growth to help control experiment conditions.
In addition, each of the Arabidopsis series scientific plant growth chamber features vertical and rear-wall shelf-level an air airflow configuration that allow for a consistent flow of air throughout the chamber. This allows fresh air to consistently circulate throughout the chamber, as well as help make the control of humidity and carbon dioxide more manageable. Finally, this airflow also helps to combat excess heating from light lamps, allowing plants to grow in the climate controlled conditions you’ve set in your experiment.
The chambers also feature powerful lighting capabilities that allow for simulated day and night conditions with varying intensity. Units feature a variety of incandescent and fluorescent lighting options that are fully programmable and can be controlled from pre-programmed settings or further customized with intensity levels as high as 300 micromoles/m2/second at 6 inches. This allows for conditions to be adapted to simulate both various lighting conditions, such as cloudy or overcast conditions.
Built to Last
Each of these chambers from Percival Scientific is also built with a focus on longevity and durability. Arabidopsis chambers cover 2-inch thick urethane insulation foam that ensures accurate and consistent control of conditions inside of the growth chambers regardless of conditions outside. In addition to being highly effective, this foam is also environmentally friendly, scoring 0.0 on both global warming potential and ozone depletion potential.
The chambers are also equipped with floor-level drainage and hose connections to allow for easy management of unused water and runoff during plant growth. Experiments can also be accessed simply and conveniently through the doors that tightly seal using magnetic gaskets that keep conditions inside consistent when the unit is closed.
Customizable Solutions
While the capabilities of the Arabidopsis chambers from Percival Scientific can control a wide range of demands and conditions, we also understand that unique experiments sometimes have unique requirements. That’s why we also offer a range of optional features, capabilities and equipment, including LED lighting, Android OS touchscreen controls on unit, additive humidity and dehumidifying controls and sensors and much more. Our team can also work with you to create solutions to meet other options based on your experimental demands.
